Breaking through business negativity

Are you surrounded by negativity with customers complaining about interest rates, slow sales, petrol prices and the like? It’s very easy to get caught up in the doom and gloom but I say – don’t! With crisis comes opportunity. There are always business blessings to be found. People and business still have money to spend and they still have to choose where to spend that money. If you are gloomy about sales and business you know what will happen….. you will be right! Sales will be lousy. The businesses that do well in gloomy times are those that can retain a positive outlook and see the opportunities not the problems.

Most Asked Marketing Questions
No. 8:

Q: What percentage of sales should I spend on marketing?
A: It depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are wanting to grow your business by 30% then you will need to invest more in marketing. Also when businesses are at start up phase their marketing costs may be higher.
Other things to consider are:

  1. How easy it is to communicate your product/service feature/benefits?
  2. How much time you have? Can you do the letterbox drop?
  3. How much money are you wanting to make from your investment?
