The recent Tree Logic seminar series ‘Urban forests, striving for a natural balance’ was a great success. Positive feedback was received from all delegates at each of the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne seminars. Dr Cecil Konijnendijk and Dr Kathleen Wolf were professional, passionate and extremely knowledgeable speakers conveying a strong message about the importance of trees and urban forests in our cities. In particular the comparisons between the United States and Europe illustrated the social value, particularly around public health issues that urban forests can provide. The challenge for the managers of green infrastructure is to convey this message to the decision makers and influential people in our community to increase awareness and resource input to sustain this vital component of our cities.
