Tree Logic has opened a new depot come nursery facility in the Western suburbs. Located at the southern end of Beverley Street in Yarraville and covering approximately 1,400 square meters with room to expand, the facility provides space for holding approximately 700 trees, has a shade house, a warehouse and an office. This depot will be used to service our planting and establishment maintenance contracts for clients in the central and western suburbs including Brimbank City Council, Wyndham City Council, City of Port Phillip and Albert Park.
Tree Logic Yarraville depot and nursery

As part of the Grand Hyatt Melbourne redevelopment, Tree Logic has been engaged to supply and install five super advanced Figs, three of which are to be installed within the new atrium restaurant and foyer areas and two into the Russel Street Port Cochere.
The job presents many challenges including providing a suitable indoor environment for the trees to grow and prosper. The trees selected for this project are Ficus hillii var. ‘Flash’ which are renowned for their hardiness and tolerance to low light. The 4.5 meters tall trees have been delivered to Tree Logic’s new nursery facility in Yarraville where they have been containerised and placed in a shade house to acclimatise to low light. Tree Logic is currently in the process of specifying soils, irrigation, drainage, heating and lighting requirements for the trees in conjunction with Billard Leece (construction design), Bar Studio (interior design), GHG (project management), Kane (construction), Graphos and Corelli (lighting). The trees are to be installed in July/August 2008. Progress photos available next newsletter.

The Sustainable Systems for Urban Trees seminar held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in April achieved a 99% satisfaction rate with some delegates traveling from South Australia to attend the Brisbane seminar. Presentations are now available online. The next Tree Logic seminar, Forestry a Broad Approach, will be held in February 2009.
